Who we are and what we do:

MSET is a collection of motorcyclist and motorcycle enthusiasts volunteering their time and talents supporting community events, utilizing the unique mobility and flexibility of motorcycles to provide on route Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Emergency Communications.

We primarily service mobile events such as bicycle rides and races, marathons and triathlons. However we also provide services for some fixed base or standby events.

MSET is a Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) registered First Responder Organization (FRO). Our medical members are state certified and have Medical Direction under the Austin/Travis County Emergency Medical Services System (A/TCEMS) and are authorized system credentialed medical providers.

MSET communications members are FCC licensed Amateur Radio Operators and have two primary roles. One is to provide net control or dispatch services for our medical operations and event partners. The other is to provide communications support to our partners that are not authorized to operate amateur radio equipment and members who have not yet obtained their FCC amateur radio operator license.

Our motorcycle medical team members are outfitted with onboard oxygen tanks, AEDs, pulse oximeters, medical and trauma jump bags, emergency lights, sirens and dual band HAM radios. With the added motorcycle mobility, reliable two-way radio communications, and our direct connection with Austin/Travis County Emergency Medical Services for local events, you have a pretty special team dedicated to making your event run smoothly and safely.

Community Outreach.      To top off our portfolio, we give back to the community by coordinating and hosting one of the largest helicopter landing zone safety training classes in Texas. Working hand in hand with organizations such as STAR Flight, PHI STAT Air Georgetown and Shoreline Christian Center, we bring this FREE DSHS certified training to emergency medical personnel, fire department personnel, law enforcement personnel, first responder teams, search and rescue teams, amateur radio operators, boy and girl scouts and the general public. Participants learn how to be valuable members during an emergency helicopter landing while earning certified continuing education credits from the TDSHS (EMS & nursing) and TCLEOSE (law enforcement).

We are a nonprofit organization under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We do not charge for our services but are supported solely by charitable contributions and grants. All donations are tax deductible to the extent provided under U.S. tax law.

If you or someone you know is organizing an event which will require medical and / or communications support, please contact us about using our services.

And, if you are interested in volunteering your time on any of our events, we would love to have you join us!
